Liudmyla Rubtsova

In 2007, at the age of 12, Liuda repented at a Christian camp in her home town of Poltava in Central Ukraine. She came to Lviv to study at university and has stayed ever since. She has been serving at a church in Lviv for 10 years, 8 of which her church was in close partnership with Josiah Venture (JV) Ukraine. She is one of the key youth leaders at her church, serves on the worship team, and participates on the church council. Liuda especially enjoys organizing large Christian events, meetings, and conferences for young people. Mentoring teenage girls has a special place in her heart.

When the war began, Liuda helped with refugees and organized a humanitarian headquarters and a volunteer center. During this time, she was working as the Deputy Director of a distinguished private school in Lviv. But the questions, “Why am I working here?” and “For what?” continued to weigh on her. So, she quit her prestigious job and listened to God’s call to follow him wherever he would lead. After two weeks, she unexpectedly received an offer to join the JV Ukraine team full time.

She currently coordinates the work of the Communication Team in Ukraine and strives to capture and tell the stories of God's amazing work, even amidst the war. Liuda continues to serve on the youth team, disciple many girls, and mentor a new youth team at her church.
