Serhii & Yana Skyba
Mark, Daniel, Josiah
Serhii and Yana have been happily married for eight years, during which time God blessed them with three sons.
In 2021, they moved to Uman, a city in central Ukraine, where they became missionaries at a local church formed two years prior. Before becoming missionaries, Serhii enjoyed a successful career as a chef and owned his own restaurant.
Since 2023, Serhii has been the pastor of the Bible Church of Reconciliation in Uman.
When the war began in 2022, they decided to stay in Ukraine and help wherever they could. Serhii helped with evacuations, delivered humanitarian aid, and provided psychological support for refugees. Currently, he serves as a chaplain for military personnel and veterans, and Yana serves military wives and other young mothers in the city.
At Josiah Venture, Serhii is responsible for training the leaders of church youth teams. Each year, Serhii and his team train about 20 youth teams and 120 leaders who work with over 1,000 teenagers.
Serhii and Yana have a clear calling to serve young people, help them find Christ, and inspire them to grow in their faith. They also strive to inspire young leaders to carry out Christ's commission.
