The nearly 34.6 million people that make up the population reside in Canada’s ten provinces and three territories. The majority can be found living along the southern sections of the country.
Canada continues to receive a large number of immigrants from all over world, especially Central and Eastern Europe, who settle across the country. This creates a very natural relationship between the evangelical Canadian church and churches in the Central and Eastern European countries where Josiah Venture serves.
While the evangelical landscape has been changing over the years, Canada remains predominately a Christian nation. Therefore, Canada has potential to have great spiritual impact for the kingdom. With its connections to Central and Eastern Europe, Canada can help reach Central and Eastern European young people for Christ.
God is raising up a new generation of believers and young leaders in Canada whose desire and passion is to see lives changed through the sharing and embracing of the gospel. Believing in the Great Commission, Josiah Venture Canada exists to provide ministry opportunities for those with a similar mission, values and passion, as well as the opportunity to become financial partners in world missions.
Through short-term teams, internships, along with short and long term missions serving opportunities, evangelical Canadians are able to reach out to an area of Central and Eastern Europe where there are very few believers but where the doors of interest are still open.
Although Josiah Venture Canada has only existed since 2004, hundreds of individuals have served on teams and on short-term mission trips in Central and Eastern Europe over the past 18 years through our parent organization, Josiah Venture USA.
Understanding that the need for people and resources to serve in Central and Eastern Europe is great, Josiah Venture has recently established a new Canadian headquarters in Alberta. Under the guidance of the Canadian board of directors, it is our prayer that individual Christians and Churches across Canada will rise up to serve and to support the movement of God that is happening across Central and Eastern Europe and that these believers will return home to be leaders in their churches and transformers their communities.
