Ed and Wendi moved to Slovakia with their five kids in January of 2010. Ed’s heart was first stirred for the youth of Central and Eastern Europe in 1998 when he came over for six months to do Josiah Venture (JV) English Camps in Slovakia. When he went back to America and married Wendi, he told her about the unity of Josiah Venture and the wonderful opportunity to share Christ to this next generation. When they moved their family there, they lived in Bardejov on the east side of the country for five years, until May of 2015, and served in the English Camps ministry. In May of 2015, they moved to the center of the country and now live in the city of Banska Bystrica. Ed is the director of the JV EDGE Sports ministry in Slovakia. He, with his family, is using the platform of sports to bring many students and athletes to know and love Jesus Christ. The first sport that Ed and the Kompas national team are focusing on spreading to local churches across Slovakia is floorball.
