In the Czech Republic, born-again Christians make up less than 1% of the population. The church is growing, but it will take 179 years before the number of Christians in the population reaches 1% unless someone starts doing something differently.
The church here is often made up of small communities of up to 100 people. Many Christians are not interested in the development of the church and the mission. Often only a few individuals invest in church development.
Michal left his career in business years ago and became part of Josiah Venture in the Czech Republic to help change this situation. He is gifted in looking for potential in young people and investing in their growth in the areas of maturity in Christ, leadership, and management. The Czech Republic needs more mature leaders who can work with communities larger than 100 people, can build teams, and can multiply their ministries to help Czech reach that 1%.
Michal believes in the benefits of cooperation between evangelical denominations. That is why, together with others, he strives for a greater connection of denominations in the field of youth work. And this initiative is already bearing very good fruit.
At KAM (Josiah Venture’s partner organization in the Czech republic), Michal is in charge of a team of mentors and coaches who work with young leaders throughout the country and has been a part of the management of KAM since 2024. He lives in Opava with his wife Edita.
