Josh and Katie Yates’ story began on Oak Street Beach in Chicago in the fall of 1998. While studying at Moody Bible Institute, their shared love for God’s Word collided with a growing passion to see young leaders formed through intentional disciple-making. That calling has shaped their lives ever since. After graduating in 2000, Josh stepped into his first youth ministry pastorate, and together they have served faithfully in full-time ministry for more than two decades.
Josh and Katie currently serve with the Josiah Venture USA team, apprenticing young leaders to follow Jesus more intentionally and to lead disciple-making movements. They are deeply invested in training, coaching, and mentoring ministry leaders across North America through the Leadership Lab—an initiative focused on developing healthy leaders in student ministry. Serving local churches and JV partner churches, they work to better equip youth workers, believing that healthy leaders send healthy teams.
Katie also serves as the Admin and Operations Director with Concentric Global, Josiah Venture’s global partner. Over the past ten years, she has served in a variety of roles with Concentric, bringing a deep passion for organizational leadership and a heart for disciple-making.
Josh and Katie live in Portland, Oregon, where they are raising their two teenage children and continuing to invest their lives in the next generation of leaders.
