Gord and Brenda have been serving with Josiah Venture (JV) since January 1997. Following 15 years of youth ministry in Canada, their hearts resonated with the vision of the, then newly formed, ministry called Josiah Venture. That’s when they heard about the need for mentoring next generation leaders in Central and Eastern Europe. Their Josiah Venture ministry began in Poland, serving the local church and walking alongside young leaders, followed by a number of years building the North American ministry in both the US and Canada. Together, Gord and Brenda have served the growing JV family by shepherding MITs (Missionaries in Training), caring for overseas staff, connecting with JV partners, and representing the ministry of Josiah Venture throughout North America. In 2022, the Nickersons added to their role JV Alumni Relations and JV Leadership Lab (serving North American youth pastors/ministries). Gord and Brenda currently live in Fort Worth, Texas, and have three adult children: Amy (herself a JV Alumni), Brad, and Katie (married to Dane Soderquist), and four grandchildren.
