Liam Gaspar

At the age of 13, Latvia took hold of Liam when, in 2007, his family visited their close friend David Kingdon. In 2010, he returned on a mission team led by his parents to support Dave’s work in Grobina. Liam’s heart for Latvia and its people grew, inspiring the journey leading him to this point. That summer, Liam participated as a camper and a young leader at his first Fusion camp with Josiah Venture and found his faith challenged. Liam set his sights on a gap year in Latvia after high school, preparing by recruiting teams from Scotland each summer and dedicating himself to a self-study of Latvian. The gap year supporting youth ministry in Grobina was incredible and strengthened his call to Latvia. He returned to Scotland to study Russian at the University of Edinburgh which enabled him to spend his third year abroad back in Latvia; half the time studying in Daugavpils and the other half volunteering in Karosta and Grobina. Through leading and participating on teams to Latvia over the past 8 years, Liam understands the brokenness and hopelessness amongst the youth. His heart is to live life with them and share with them the great news of Jesus Christ.
