James Courtis-Pond is serving as the JVUK Chairman. He is part of a church planting team at St. Peter's Brighton, and has led many Alpha courses as well as Christian Men’s Groups including having had the privilege to speak to the South African rugby team about Jesus during the 2015 Rugby World Cup. James has a law degree, practiced law with two Magic Circle law firms, and was General Counsel of a US energy company. He is currently CEO of AnyData Solutions, providing business intelligence and contract management software and services to global companies. James is married with 3 children and lives near Brighton
Grant B Stupart recently retired from 50 years in the logistics business, owning his own companies for the last 15 years, with his main area of focus, commercially, Eastern Europe. Since becoming a Christian at the age of 21, Grant has partnered and led youth evangelistic activities both within the church and in local communities with the sole aim of introducing the Lord to youth in their teenage years. Married for 39 years to Gwen, they have two lovely daughters, Kristen and Stephanie who is married to Chris, and two grand-daughters, Summer and Marlowe.
Anthony Harper with his wife, Catherine, run a small community post office and retail business in the South West of England Having seen firsthand the work of JV, his heart was stirred to become engaged with this ministry. Anthony has previously been a trustee for Youth for Christ – Tunbridge Wells, a trustee and Honorary Secretary to Just Children Foundation (UK), and is currently the Chairman of for the Charity Hand in Hand Foundation Worldwide which he pioneered and set up. His favourite quote from Winston Churchill, sums him up. “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
Paul Bowman has over 20 years of experience in full-time youth ministry in the local church. He has served in a variety of settings throughout Ireland – both urban and rural – working with churched and unchurched young people. He is passionate about developing youth ministries that are rooted in the life and ministry model of Christ. For many years he has been leading teams of young people on short-term mission trips to the Czech Republic to serve in Josiah Venture's English Camp ministry. He is committed to training and equipping the next generation of youth leaders and seeing young people mobilised to make disciples throughout the world. He lives with his wife Val and their three children in Saintfield, Northern Ireland. He holds a BSc Hons in Community Youth Work and is currently studying for a Masters in Transformational Leadership.
Dr. Mark Spicer is a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry at Strathclyde University in Glasgow; his research is internationally recognised. Mark is on the leadership team of his local church with responsibility for all things worship-related. As part of his remit he runs an annual worship school, and is a leader with Hope School of Supernatural Life, equipping believers to live in the fullness of all God has for them. He also serves in his church as a member of the board of trustees. He has been married to Lydia for 32 years, and they have 4 adult children.
Pavel Schwarz works in Organizational Development at Josiah Venture. Before joining Josiah Venture he worked for General Electric in the US, Canada, and Europe. He obtained his Masters in Business Administration in the United States. Pavel’s desire is to develop and equip leaders and was involved in youth ministry in his college years. He is married with 3 children and currently lives in the Czech Republic.
